Someera F. Khokhar is a project and asset finance partner at White & Case LLP and the regional section head for the Americas Energy, Infrastructure, Project Finance and Asset Finance Group. She serves on the Firm’s One Firm Council and the Americas Operations Counsel. Ms. Khokhar has advised lenders, borrowers and sponsors on financings and restructurings in the infrastructure, equipment leasing, shipping, rail, aviation and renewable energy sectors.
Her transaction experience includes secured debt transactions, US Export-Import Bank and other export credit agency-supported financings, revolving credit facilities, letter of credit facilities, asset-based structured financings, warehouse facilities, pre-delivery financings, securitizations, cross-border leveraged operating lease financings, and tax-based leasing structures.
Ms. Khokhar was chair of the White & Case Global Women's Initiative Committee from 2009 through 2011, in which capacity she oversaw the Firm's strategy, operations and investment in recruiting, retaining, developing and advancing women lawyers globally. As a result of this strategy, White & Case was shortlisted in the Best International Firm for Women in Business Law category by the Euromoney Legal Media Group in 2011. In 2012, the Firm won two Euromoney Women in Business Law Awards: the Best International Firm for Talent Management for our global women's initiative and the Russia country award.
This year she managed and supervised White & Case’s largest pro bono project—a comprehensive global database of human trafficking cases for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. The project involved more than 200 associates and 30 partners worldwide.
