Chief Counsellor for Social Issues, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development
Michaela Bergman is a social anthropologist and lawyer with 20 years of experience in development, working with international financial institutions and civil society. She has worked in over 40 countries across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. She has experience and expertise in policy- and project-related activities around gender, involuntary resettlement, poverty alleviation, protection and empowerment of vulnerable and excluded groups, indigenous peoples, community development, disability, support of civil society, human rights and labour laws, particularly in post-conflict countries and transitional economies. Bergman is chief counsellor for social issues at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
